I had my personal Reconnection in February 2007, and felt better almost immediately, as described in my April 2009 post. But that was only the beginning. I soon started noticing bigger, deeper results.
About a month after my Reconnection, I found myself painting my office. What you don't know about this simple act is that this sunny room by the front door had been intended as my healing office since we bought the house. Yet it had sat empty -- or rather, it had sat stuffed full of unopened boxes and badly installed cabinetry waiting to be reinstalled. It was a saga and an eyesore, and I finally put a screen across the open doorway, yet I continued to avoid the whole room or resolving any of the issues in it...
For five years.
In contrast, just a couple short weeks after my Reconnection, I'd somehow figured out what to do with the once impossible-to-move stuff! I had the office designed (by
Inner View Consulting -- highly recommended) and I suddenly found myself painting the ceiling lavender. The walls became butter yellow, I've got a window seat full of colorful pillows, a purple chair, and she even found me a fun, red polka-dot lamp for my desk.
As I painted, however, I could not figure out why I didn't do this earlier -- it was just so simple! Since my Reconnection, in fact, there have been several things I "couldn't" do before (two in the "always wanted to do" category) that I suddenly found myself doing without unusual effort. This effect seems to be especially true if these activities are in alignment with my spiritual development and growth.
It wasn't until long after I finished decorating my office and had new french doors installed that I finally realized the importance of this act: this was the first time in over 8 years of being a healer that I had a dedicated office just for my work! The first time. It was a huge, important step for me towards taking myself, my inner healer, and my healing work more seriously. It also began a process of taking steps to stop playing small. (More on THAT later...)
And the crazy thing is, it was EASY. It was like it happened by itself, no effort from me. How about you? What has happened by itself or become easy after your Reconnection?
